Reference

The Wasmd command line

Validate, inspect, run, and distribute modules through one CLI.

Validate and inspect

Use validation before execution. Inspection reports required and enabled Core features, imports, exports, and backend metadata. JSON output is suitable for automation.

wasmd validate examples/add.wat --json
wasmd inspect examples/add.wat --json
wasmd run examples/add.wat --invoke add --arg i32:19 --arg i32:23

Run files or packages

run accepts a local module, a component, or a Registry package reference. HTTP components are discovered automatically. Pin a version when reproducibility matters.

wasmd run hello.wasm
wasmd run demo/hello:1.0.0
wasmd run -p 127.0.0.1:8080:8080 ./http-component.wasm

Migration from older commands

serve has been merged into run. Replace --listen with -p and --data with -v. pull stores verified artifacts in the shared image cache; the former -o / --output option has been removed. Use wasmd --help for the options supported by your installed build.

wasmd --help
wasmd volume ls
wasmd volume inspect app-data
